First in a Series of Seven

Shared by Duffy McCoy

Two of the many fascinating layers of astrology are elements and qualities. The elements are Fire (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius), Earth (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn), Air (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) and Water ( Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces). Cardinal (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn), Fixed (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) and Mutable (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) are the qualities. Balance is a place we all seek, but what do you do if you have more water signs than any other element or you have no Earth. This is the first in a series of seven articles that will assist you in reaching your balance point.

Fire is represented by the color red. In your home a fireplace, fire pit and stoves can symbolize fire. Photos, even a family gathered around camp fire, or  paintings of things burning, smoke stacks, etc. can represent Fire.

The shapes of triangles, pyramids and cones can signify Fire. So what if you have no fire in your chart, then you would add any of the above mentioned items. And don't forget to wear red clothes or accessories. Be careful not to add fuel to the Fire.

Now what if you have too much fire. You might react by blowing up over things, burning bridges, exhibiting a more aggressive behavior.

So let's put some of that fire out. What puts out fire? Water! But be careful you want balance not to extinguish the Fire. You might change the wall colors in a room where the Fire person relaxes; add a fountain, or photos or paintings of water. Do you have a pool with a water fall? Regular vacations to the beach or aquariums are wonderful to help balance.

And it is ok if you try something and you see no difference, remove it and try something else.

Saturn Pluto Mutual Reception

Mutual receptions occur when planets are in each other's ruling signs in a horoscope. They are very fortunate as a rule, as they offer an escape route, letting us change places and get out of whatever we've gotten ourselves into. Pluto in Capricorn is in Mutual Reception with Saturn in Scorpio until September 17, 2015.

Tonight's program will explore how to interpret this and other mutual receptions, in the natal chart as well as by transit. If time permits, a glance at the Fixed Star Alphecca, which is involved in the transiting Saturn-Pluto mutual reception at present, Chinese Astrology For the Water Snake and the birth chart of Spiritualism (March 31, 1848, 8:30 pm in Hydesville, NY) might be discussed.
